Refer a Friend: Terms and Conditions

These terms apply between Carmoola Limited (“Carmoola” or “we” or “our”) and you when you refer a friend to Carmoola’s web portal or app (together the “Carmoola App”) and the services accessed through them (the “Services”).

Carmoola Limited: Registered Office: 1 Whittlebury Mews West, London, NW1 8HS, United Kingdom. Registered in England and Wales under company number 12992987.

As part of the Carmoola Refer a Friend Program (the “Program”), Carmoola is offering certain Carmoola users the opportunity to refer other users to Carmoola and for both to receive a cash reward (the “Reward”). On meeting the requirements set out in these terms and conditions (the “Terms”), this is an opportunity for both the Carmoola user making the referral (the “Referrer'') and the user receiving the referral (the “Referee”) to receive the Reward.

Please read these Terms carefully including the eligibility criteria set out below.


These Terms set out the rules that apply to the Program and you must comply with these Terms, as well as the terms that apply to your account at all times when participating in the Program.



What is the Reward?

The Reward that the Referrer and the Referee may receive is in the form of £100 voucher, for one of the following retailers: John Lewis, Selfridges, or Amazon. 

Carmoola will consider reasonable requests from the Referrer or Referee to receive a voucher for an alternative retailer at its discretion. 

 

Who is Eligible for the Program?

To be eligible for the Program, the Referrer must:

  • Have created a Carmoola user account in the past
  • Be over the age of 18 years
  • Reside in the UK
  • Refer an eligible Referee
  • Be the first person to refer the Referee

The Referee must be a new Carmoola user and never have taken a loan out with us before. If the Referee is currently a Carmoola user or has used an account or started the sign-up process in the past, the Referee is not a new user and so is not eligible.

 

How to Claim the Reward

For both the Referrer and the Referee to receive the Reward, the Referrer must meet the eligibility requirements set out in these Terms.

The Referrer must have received an email invite (relating to the Program) from us. The Referrer will need to share the link provided in the email to the Referee.

The Referee will create a Carmoola account, complete the application process and purchase a car with a Carmoola loan during the first 60 days of creating their account.

The Referee must not undo, withdraw from, or early settle their loan within the first 30 days of activating it. 

Once the Referee has purchased their car and 30 days has passed, the Referrer should notify Carmoola via email to support@carmoola.co.uk, quoting the loan reference for the Referee.

In this email, the Referrer must also share:

  • The email address for both the Referrer and Referee (this is where the vouchers will be sent)
  • The loan reference for the Referee
  • Their preference of retailer for the vouchers


If all the above steps are completed by the end of 60 days, both the Referrer and the Referee will be eligible for the Reward. 

There is no maximum number of people that the Referrer can refer. 

 

What Else Should I Know?

  1. This Program is organised and offered: for users resident in the United Kingdom by Carmoola, a company whose registered address is at 1 Whittlebury Mews West, London, NW1 8HS.
  2. We may suspend or end this Program at any time, if in our reasonable opinion, the Program is being abused or may negatively affect Carmoola's goodwill or reputation. We may do this on an individual or program-wide basis. Please contact support if you believe you qualify for a Reward in relation to the Program that has not been awarded to you as a result of this early suspension or termination.
  3. We can cancel this Program or change these Terms at any time without notice. Any cancellation or changes to the Terms do not affect your rights if you have already participated in the Program.
  4. Events beyond the control of Carmoola may also occur that render the awarding of the Reward as part of this Program impossible. Carmoola will not be liable for any loss, whether directly or indirectly suffered, as a result of an event outside of its control.
  5. These terms are published in English and any translation is a courtesy translation only. This means you cannot derive any rights from any translated version and only the English version can be used in legal proceedings.
  6. This Program is a two-sided campaign, where both the Referrer and the Referee will be awarded the Reward (subject to meeting the requirements set out in these Terms).
  7. The Reward will be paid to each of the Referrer and the Referee within 3 business days after the Referrer has notified Carmoola of eligibility, provided that 14 days has also passed on the Referee's new loan, and all other Terms have been met.
  8. The Reward will only be awarded in relation to successful referrals for Carmoola accounts where the Referee is a new user of Carmoola.
  9. Carmoola needs to handle the Referrer’s and Referee’s personal data to carry out its obligations under these Terms. Carmoola will process the Referrer and the Referee’s personal data in compliance with ​​the Carmoola Privacy Notice.
  10. If we believe that you have engaged in any fraud or material abuse of this Program we may in our sole discretion take any actions we see fit in the circumstances. For example, it would be a material abuse of this Program to orchestrate a campaign to profiteer from this Program in a way that does not result in genuine and unique new sign-ups to Carmoola, and we may close your account if you do this.
  11. If you have any questions or complaints about this Program, please contact support.
  12. If you are a customer of Carmoola, this Program is governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute relating to it. 

 

Changes to These Terms

Carmoola may need to change these terms to reflect changes in law or best practice or to deal with additional features which are introduced. Any changes to the terms will be notified to you.

If you do not accept the notified changes you will not be permitted to continue to use the Carmoola App and the Services.
